Sur Ron Racing Comes Alive in Canada

Sur Ron Racing Comes Alive in Canada

Have you ever thought of racing your Sur Ron against other riders? Are you loving your Light Bee, but looking for a little extra jolt of adrenaline?

You're in luck. Light Bee racing has arrived.

With an eye toward a bigger racing program in 2023, Sur Ron Canada hosted 2 exhibition races this past June, in BC and Ontario. Based on the turnout and excitement generated at the track and online, Sur Ron Light Bee X racing is destined to become a regular part of off-road competition in both Canada and the US.

The first exhibition race — the “Light Bee Night Show” — was held at the Western Canadian Amateur National Championships and organized by Kamloops-based dealer Outlaw Motorsports. Excitement was in the air as Canadian race fans were introduced to electric moto racing for the first time. There was carnage, lots of laughs and some fast action from some very quick riders, including well-known racer and moto influencer Brock Hoyer, who eventually finished 2nd to winner Caleb Cochlin. The top 3 went home with prize packs and every racer got some swag for participating.

A few weeks later, the Sur Ron party moved to the Sand Del Lee motocross park outside of Ottawa, ON for a round of the Amateur Motocross Ontario series.

Fans were not only treated to the first electric MX race in Ontario, but also got to see the full-size electric Storm Bee on display. Sur Ron staff and local dealer Rockland Wheels were on hand to mingle with anyone interested in learning more about this growing electric bike brand. Young rider Kade Knights took home the #1 plate, with Kale Skywood coming home in 2nd.

Sur Ron Canada is working on establishing more exhibition races in August and September of 2022, with plans to establish a full class or series in 2023. Follow us on Instagram at @surron_usa_canada for the latest news.
